SPACESHIP-S2
Price range: £50.00 through £300.00
What is this?
This is a 3D printed 1:96 scale spaceship model designed loosely based on Prototype Ship SN24!
Inspired by past, current, and future Space exploration missions, we designed a 3D printable 1:96 scale spaceship model with a goal of using it to inspire young children to study more about space, science, and other STEM subjects.
Please note: Morethan3D Ltd does NOT have any business relationship or association with Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (referred to as SpaceX). Although our space models may reassemble SpaceX’s hardware designs, our models are designed with visual cues from publicly available material from the internet (e.g. photos, videos), combined with our own imagination and tweaks. Therefore, Morethan3D models are not accurate replicas of SpaceX’s products. Our models are not affiliated, associated, authorised, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with SpaceX.

How was this model designed?
This model was designed using publicly available material from the internet including CAD models, videos and pictures
What are the differences between SPACESHIP-S2 and SPACESHIP-S1?
- Exterior: SPACESHIP-S2 is designed based on SN24 prototype whereas SPACESHIP-S1 was based on SN9
- Engine Bay: SPACESHIP-S2 has 3x Centre Engines and 3x RVac Engines whereas SPACESHIP-S1 only has 3x Centre Engines
- Engines: 3x Centre Engines on SPACESHIP-S2 can gimbal (unlike those on SPACESHIP-S1)
- Flap: All 4x Flaps on SPACESHIP-S2 are slightly smaller than those on SPACESHIP-S1
- Header Tanks: Both LOX and CH4 Header Tanks on SPACESHIP-S2 are now located inside the Nose Cone
- Ring Segments connection: Larger magnets (5mm dia x 3mm thick) are used to hold the ring segments together on SPACESHIP-S2, which makes the model much stronger and harder to fall apart compared to SPACESHIP-S1 design
- Heat Shield Tiles: Better design on SPACESHIP-S2, more coverage and more realistic compared to SPACESHIP-S1. Also, Black Thermal Protection Paint is also incorporated into the design of SPACESHIP-S2
Frequent questions
-
Does the model come fully assembled or as a kit?
The model comes as a pre-assembled kit, all magnets are pre-fitted so it’s really easy to assemble.
-
Does the model come in a cardboard box?
Yes, the model is well packed. It comes in a box filled with foam and bubble wrap.
-
Do you have the BOOSTER for the SPACESHIP-S2 model?
Yes, please check out the BOOSTER-S2 .
Note: The BOOSTER-S1 was originally designed for the SPACESHIP-S1 model. Hence, if you want to stack the SPACESHIP-S2 onto BOOSTER-S1, you’ll need to download this new Booster Interstage Section (which makes the BOOSTER-S1 compatible with the SPACESHIP-S2).
-
Do the STL also include STL of the rocket engine R4PTCR-M1?
No, it has a much simplified version of the R4PTCR-M1 , so not as detailed.
-
Does the model have any interior?
Yes, it has full interior including the LOX, CH4 tanks, header tanks and all plumbing.
-
What is the minimum build volume that I need to print this model?
Your printer need a minimum build volume of 150x150x145mm.
-
Is the SPACESHIP-S2 model compatible with the OLIT-S1 model?
Yes, it is (since they are both at the same scale 1:96).
-
Does the STL also include STL of the Heatshield Tiles and Launch Pad?
Yes, Heatshield Tiles and Launch Pad are both included in the STL. You don’t have to purchase them separately
