What is this?

This is an update package to transform your SPACESHIP-S4 (SN28) to the new SPACESHIP-S5 (SN29). We’ve added some new parts on this new version – See FAQ below for more details.

If you have already purchased the SPACESHIP-S4, you DO NOT need to purchase the full SPACESHIP-S5 STL files. Instead, you can download the SPACESHIP-S4 Update free of charge. Download link is available via our Morethan3D Discord Server under #free-giveaway channel

If you have NOT already purchased the SPACESHIP-S4, please just purchase the new SPACESHIP-S5 instead

Inspired by past, current, and future Space exploration missions, we designed a 3D printable 1:96 scale spaceship model with a goal of using it to inspire young children to study more about space, science, and other STEM subjects.

If you want to print this model yourself, your printer need a minimum build volume of 150x150x145mm

How was this model designed?

This model was designed using publicly available material from the internet including CAD models, videos and pictures

What are the differences between SPACESHIP-S5 and SPACESHIP-S4?

Exterior:
SPACESHIP-S5 is designed based on SN29 prototype whereas SPACESHIP-S4 was based on SN28. Therefore, the Nose Cone is slightly different on each version of the ship

Heat Shield Tiles:
SPACESHIP-S5 has two missing tiles near the bottom part of the ship (the Skirt section). This represents the missing tiles on the SN29

Upper Flaps:
SPACESHIP-S5 comes with an additional version of the forward flap to represent its damaged stage during re-entry.

Frequent questions

Does the model come fully assembled or as a kit?

The model comes as a pre-assembled kit, all magnets are pre-fitted so it’s really easy to assemble.
Does the model come in a cardboard box?

Yes, the model is well packed. It comes in a box filled with foam and bubble wrap.
Do you have the BOOSTER for the SPACESHIP-S5 model?

Yes, please check out the BOOSTER-S4 .
Do the STL also include STL of the rocket engine R4PTCR-M1?

No, it has a much simplified version of the R4PTCR-M1 , so not as detailed.
Does the model have any interior?

Yes, it has full interior including the LOX, CH4 tanks, header tanks and all plumbing.
What is the minimum build volume that I need to print this model?

Your printer need a minimum build volume of 150x150x145mm
Is the SPACESHIP-S5 model compatible with the OLIT-S1/S2 model?

Yes, it is (since they are both at the same scale 1:96).
Does the STL also include STL of the Heatshield Tiles and Launch Pad?

Yes, Heatshield Tiles and Launch Pad are both included in the STL. You don’t have to purchase them separately
