What is this?

This is a 3D printed 1:96 scale model designed based on SpaceX’s Orbital Launch Mount (OLM).
This OLM-S2 model was designed with mechanism to hold the BOOSTER-S2 model the same way as the real one.

Inspired by their missions, we designed a 3D printable Orbital Launch Mount (OLM) 1:96 scale model with a goal of using it to inspire young children to study more about space, science, and other STEM subjects.

How was this model designed?

This model was designed using publicly available material from the internet including CAD models, videos and pictures of the real SpaceX’s Orbital Launch Mount.

FAQ

Does the model come fully assembled or as a kit?

The model comes as a pre-assembled kit, all magnets are pre-fitted so it’s really easy to assemble.
Does the model come in a cardboard box?

Yes, the model is well packed. It comes in a box filled with foam and bubble wrap.
Is the OLM-S2 compatible with both BOOSTER-S1 and BOOSTER-S2?

BOOSTER-S1: Unfortunately, it isn’t. The BOOSTER-S1 can only be used with the OLM-S1 (which is sold together with the BOOSTER-S1)

BOOSTER-S2: Yes, of course. The OLM-S2 was designed for BOOSTER-S2 and future versions of SpaceX’s boosters
Does the STL also include the STARSHIP-S2 and BOOSTER-S2

No, they need to be purchased separately
Do the "fingers" on the OLM-S2 extend and retract to hold the BOOSTER-S2?

Yes, the OLM-S2 has a built-in mechanism which allows the “fingers” to extend/retract to hold the BOOSTER-S2
What is the minimum build volume that I need to print this model?

Your printer need a minimum build volume of 200x200x168mm.
